DIFFERENT TYPES OF BOWLING AND SCIENCE BEHIND THEM

Hello viewer ,
again a warm welcome to my second blog about the different terms associated with bowling and the science behind them.
As you all knows , the world cup are now ongoing , and we see the bowlers doing better day by day with their performance .
So, lets start the post .

It is one of the most difficult delivery for the batsman , .
it is generally bowled by a leg spin bowler, it is actually a back spin ball , squeezed out of the front of the hand with the thumb and first and second finger.
This type of ball generally bounce low height after pitching , so, difficult for the batsman to play .

here , the ball comes to the batsman with lower height ,
2- DOOSRA
Here , the bowler bowls by locking the wrist and using the index and ring finger instead of the middle ones. this give it a back spin and it turns from the leg side to the off side to a right hander batsman .
This is a way to confuse them as they are ready for the leg side ball only .

Murlidharan of srilankan cricket team delivers it best , but now its regarded as illegal by ICC , so, they banned them .
DOOSRA mainly confuse the batsman into playing a poor shot.
The wind have a major effect on doosra ,
3- CAROM BALL This is the ball in which Rohit get out by Mujeeb (vs afghanistan) .
The ball is held between the thumb , forefinger, and the middle finger. it is sqeezed out and flicked by the fingers in the same way a carrom player flicks the disc on the board .

This type of ball also known as Sudoku ball .
Ajantha mendis reintroduced it in 2008 and later by r ashwin in 2011.
This type of ball generally doesnot comes to the bat and change the direction continiously after pitching.
4- GOOGLY The ball is delivered from the back of the hand , the ball is kept in the palm with the seam parallel to it . The first two finger grip the ball and the third one grasps the seam . the wrist sharply moves to the right when the ball is released.

The googly is undetectable and it moves away from the bat.
5-YORKER BALL it is bowled by the fast bowler , and probably the best in action .
in this the ball bowled which hits the cricket pitch around the batsman's feet , when a batsman assume a normal pitch , it pitch near the crease which confuse batsman where to play the ball .

specially , when a yorker bowled with great speed , its even deceptive , as the ball seems to be invisible.
6-REVERSE SWING
Here the concept of magnus force comes into concept , when the ball is very old ( 40 or more over )  then it starts to reverse swing . there are 2 sides of a cricket ball when its old , one is rough side anathor is shine surface ,
so, when the ball becomes old , it will start swing towards the shiny surface , so, if the bowler puts inswing then after pitching it will go as outswing and vice versa .

BASIC SCIENCE BEHIND SPIN BOWLING
when spinner release the ball from the hand , they rotate the finger such that it will drift and change its direction . the clockwise or anticlockwise rotation of the ball determine whether the ball will off-spin or leg-spin .
when the ball moves through the air , then the MAGNUS effect will comes in place to determine the direction of the ball after pitching .

HOPE IT CLEARS ABOUT THE MAJOR BOWLING ACTIONS IN CRICKET .
